Q:
Is there any special programming or integration needed from my IT Department to implement FileMagician?
A:
Not at all. This is a very intuitive program to use, with no downloads or installation needed. After over 10 years of live client experience, we've customized our file sharing solution to ensure every user can be up and running in no time.

Q:
What PC requirements are necessary to use FileMagician?
A:
Virtually any modern computer will work just fine. The more critical issue is whether or not you have a Broadband or Dial-Up connection for downloading large files. Needless to say, a Broadband connection will vastly simplify your downloads.

Does FileMagician work with all browsers?
A:
FileMagician works with ALL browsers and is both PC and MAC compatible.

Q:
How long can I leave my files on FileMagician?
A:
You may leave the files there as long as you want to. This is one of the major advantages of our service over others. While others only allow you to upload your file "ONCE" for a single file transmission, we believe you should have full control of your FILE LIBRARY. Unneeded files do take up some of your space allocation, so it is in your interest to practice good "File Hygiene" and delete older files.
To make that even easier, you may select AUTO DELETE on the EDIT USER INFO page and put in the number of days you would like to keep all files in that account. After your designated number of days, the files will be automatically deleted. You, of course, can change those specifications at any time.

Q:
Are there size limits to the type of file I can upload?
A:
No. There are no size limits to the file you would like to upload, other than the allocated space you have purchased with your storage plan.

Q:
Do I have to upload the file every time I want to transfer it?
A:
No. The file will remain in your FILE LIBRARY until YOU decide it should be deleted.

Q:
How many recipients can I sent a file to at the same time?
A:
You may send to as many recipients listed in your ADDRESS BOOK as you like. You may send a file or files to any or ALL recipients listed in your ADDRESS BOOK.

Can I upload and send any file type?
A:
Yes. There are no restrictions on the types or formats of file you can upload to FileMagician.

Q:
How do I set up different user accounts for my employees and/or clients?
A:
When you set up your account, you will be prompted to add any additional users you wish. Within 48 hours, we will contact you to set up the appropriate user names/passwords for the additional user accounts.

Q: How do I know if my file was received successfully?
A:
To check the status of files you have previously sent, simply click on EDIT USER INFO once you have logged in and you will find your "File Accessed" confirmation receipts. Better yet, select to have an automatic confirmation receipt sent to your contact email when files are accessed by recipients.

Q: Can I set my FileMagician account to automatically delete files after a certain period of time?
A:
Yes, you may select AUTO DELETE on the EDIT USER INFO page and put in the number of days you would like to keep all files in that account. After your designated number of days, the files will be automatically deleted. You, of course, can change those specifications at any point in time.

Q: How long does it take for a file to be uploaded and transferred?
A:
That is wholly dependent on the size of the file and how long it takes to upload. If you are on a Broadband connection, the files go quite fast. When the appropriate party receives a FILE DELIVERY NOTIFICATION and the click on a link, the download time is again dependent on THEIR connection speed.

A:
There is NO software to download. Just open your account, receive registration confirmation from us and LOGIN!

A:
You may send any or ALL files in your FILE LIBRARY to any or ALL RECIPIENTS in your ADDRESS BOOK.

FileMagician.com is an excellent solution for graphic designers, commercial printers, artists, architects, circuit board designers, engineers, attorneys, publishers and any business that has the need to share documents with others.

How does the Free Trial work?
A:
The 15-day FREE TRIAL includes ALL of the features of the actual storage package you are currently considering. If, during the FREE TRIAL, you decide to increase or decrease the size of your package, you just need to let us know so that we structure the account exactly as you want it. You call the shots. At the end of the 15 days, your credit card will be charged with the cost of the storage program you have selected. If you choose not to continue as a client, you need to let us know prior to the 15th day so that we do not charge your credit card. There is a limit of one (1) free trial per organization.

Is there any limit to the number of files I can transfer every month?
A:
There is no limit to the number of files you may transfer each month. Our pricing structure is based on total storage space allocated to your account(s).

How soon after I sign up can I begin transferring and storing files online?
A:
Your account will normally be ready for use within hours of your sign-up request. You may always call us if you have a more urgent need.

Can I use FileMagician as a backup storage solution?
A:
Yes, FileMagician is an excellent storage solution for small and medium sized companies. You may backup as often as needed. You are only limited by total storage size assigned to your account(s).

How does FileMagician transfer my files to my intended recipients?
A:
FileMagician sends a FILE DOWNLOAD NOTIFICATION to your recipient with YOUR return email address only. The client then clicks on the included link(s) to the files you have sent. The download is Hard Drive-to-Hard Drive, without ever accumulating on your ISP's server. Therefore, there are no size limitations to the downloaded files. That is really the "Magic" in FileMagician.com!

Can I customize my FileMagician pages and emails to reflect my corporate branding and logo?
A:
Yes, we can customize your pages to reflect your corporate branding and logo. There is a modest setup charge as well as a small monthly maintenance fee for this special service. If you change your website, we will modify your pages on our server without additional charges. We try to give this page an identical look-and-feel as your page, so that when your client visits it, he/she will feel as if he is on your website.

Is there any charge to the file recipient for downloading my file?
A:
No, your FILE DOWNLOAD RECIPIENTS are never charged. They simply receive an email with 1 or more clickable download links.

How does FileMagician save me money?
A:
You save money by not having any overnight or courier fees to get critical files (documents, diagrams, schematics, graphics, etc.) into the hands of your clients.
Additionally, this is an "add as you go" program, so that you need only pay for your immediate storage needs. As you grow, you may expand your storage plan with us.
There are also quarterly and annual payment plans offering additional discounts, so there are plenty of ways to reduce your costs.

Q:
Why is FileMagician safer for file transfer than using my company’s own FTP site?
A:
Any FTP access permitted on your company's server, allows the other party to partially penetrate your security perimeter. If your client is well known to you, that risk is limited, as long as your client is taking care to only allow authorized parties to access your FTP service. If an inappropriate party gets access to the FTP account, they might be able to further penetrate your server to more critical areas.
With FileMagician, your client NEVER has access to your servers. They can only download the specified file or files for which you have designated them as a permitted recipient.

How does FileMagician keep my file transfer secure?
A:
The moment you log into your account on FileMagician, you will note that both indications of 128-bit SSL security are visible. Both the familiar "https" before the web address on the URL bar, as well as the PADLOCK on the bottom line of your browser confirm that our site itself, is SSL Secure.
In addition, the download itself is also SSL ENCRYPTED so that the file is not exposed to others.

Why is FileMagician safer for online file transfer than just attaching a file to an outgoing email?
A:
Regular email is not SSL encrypted. ALL FileMagician FILE DELIVERY NOTIFICATIONS have links ONLY to 128-bit SSL Encrypted files. Those files remain

Can anyone besides my intended recipient see the files I am transferring?
A:
The email notification you create and send goes only to those individuals whom you have selected from your online ADDRESS BOOK.

How can I be assured the files I am storing with FileMagician are safe?

The FileMagician servers are located in a very safe environment with access limited only to our server engineering staff.

Do I need to upgrade to a larger plan as I grow, or can I just add users and storage as needed?
A:
You may just add storage as you grow. Just contact us indicating the amount of additional storage needed and we'll structure that so that the pricing is fair.

What if I sign up for a certain plan now but want to change it later?
A:
You may change your plan at any time. Simply and we'll work out the pro-rata details with you so that the pricing is fair.

What is the difference between the Basic and Plus plans?
A:
There is MORE SPACE and there are MORE USER ACCOUNTS included in the PLUS PLAN. Click on

Q:
How do I switch to a Quarterly or Annual billing plan and save money?
A:
You can SAVE 15% by choosing an Annual billing plan, or SAVE 10% by choosing a Monthly billing plan. Simply call us Toll-Free at 888-876-9382 and we'll be pleased to switch you to a different billing plan so you can start saving right away.

How do I change my file preferences in "EDIT USER INFO" such as Password, Contact Name, Email Address, etc.
A:
To Edit User Info and access Special Features click on Edit User Info at the top of any page after you have LOGGED IN.

This name will appear on outgoing email notifications indicating who generated the notification.

This address will appear as the sender of any email notifications generated by this account.

e. Auto BCC

Check the above box to have an automatic blind copy of all notifications sent to contact email. To use a different email address, provide it in the box below. Multiple recipients allowed if separated by a semicolon.

f. "File Accessed" confirmation receipt

Check this box to have an automatic confirmation receipt sent to your contact email when sent files are accessed by recipients. To use a different email address provide it in the box below. Multiple email addresses may be entered, if separated by a semi-colon (;).

g. Auto Delete all files after (x) days

The AUTO DELETE function will permenantly delete all files which are older than the number of days you specifed.

h. Use Secure Socket Layers (SSL)

Selecting to use Secured Socket Layers will enable security for your account so that you will access all information through 128 bit encryption. Unchecking this option will send all information in plain text (except password and username, which will remain SSL encrypted).

i. Additional User Information such as Company, Address, Phone, etc.
